About the Course
This is an introduction to understanding of diversity, equity, and inclusion in health and wellness spaces. This is an introductory course on historical events and current practices that shape health disparities and injustices. We will also review examples of the concepts taught through various forms of media.
Meet Your Instructor
Ebony (she/her/hers), who is described as energetic, joyful, and dedicated by her colleagues is a multidisciplinary researcher, adjunct professor, health equity activist, health informatics professional, wellness coach, and patient advocate who is passionate about inclusive and equitable healthcare. Ebony has firsthand experience with the harms of discrimination, stereotyping, and bias in the healthcare system, and she is energized by equipping clinicians, patients, and caregivers with the knowledge and resources they need to advocate for themselves and to promote systemic change.
